I’m writing this blog post through a big black haze of eyelashes, after having semi-permanent extensions applied this morning. As you can see they are LONG.
The ones I went for, Let’s Go Lashes, are branded as being for “anyone who wants luscious, fashionable professionally applied lash extensions…quickly”.
The application process took around half an hour, and although it wasn’t painful, it was definitely fairly uncomfortable. I don’t like having to have my eyelids peeled apart at the end of a procedure, even if as a hayfever sufferer I’m used to it! However I was happy with the finished results – thick, long, full lashes, which means I don’t have to bother with mascara for a while.
What did freak me out was returning to my office and showing my colleague, only for her to tell me about a similar treatment she had two years ago. Unfortunately hers left her with missing eyelashes and an eye infection (she describes it as “eye eczema”) which still plagues her to this day.
Hopefully since it’s a different brand I’ll be ok, especially as my extensions were glued to the existing lashes rather than the eyelid skin which apparently can cause irritation. However I’ll be very curious to see how long they actually last (3-4 weeks is the promise) and very annoyed if I lose any of my own lashes when they come out – my Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara can only do so much.
Anyway judging from the photo above it’s my eyebrows I need to be really worrying about not the lashes – but I will report back on their success!
